As other FHP and FHPA Troopers managed the large traffic back up, A/Capt. Osborn continued patrol of the area. Along his route, he observed a vehicle traveling erratically along the southbound lanes of I-75. As the vehicle approached the top of an overpass, Capt. Osborn performed a traffic stop of the vehicle out of concern for others on the roadway. He advised the Communications Center, of the stop, and requested a supervisor. It was later determined that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence and he was subsequently placed under arrest.


	On Sunday, March 16, 2014, a large brush fire in North Port area caused the closure of interstate 75 from MM-279 to MM-213. The wind pushed heavy smoke across both directions of the travel lanes and a call for assistance was made to the Venice Auxiliary Unit. Capt. Wade Osborn was in route within minutes.
